Class 37  volume 2 comprises a mixture of cine film and video. The resulting variable picture quality is more than outweighed by the historic subject matter.

To open the video there is plenty of action at Fort William on an evening in June 1984. This sequence could well be titled how to cane a 37 around in one easy lesson. These scenes should get your mouth watering.

Having soaked up the lesson given by an obvious master of his craft, settle down to watch a mixed freight and a double headed Freightliner at Ipswich. At Ely we see 37088 working a London Liverpool St. – Kings Lynn train. This is followed by 37139 at Spalding and 37216 departing Skegness. The action continues with a mixed freight in Norfolk and a Freightliner passing through Bury St. Edmunds.

On a cold wet day in November 1984 37106/130 are stopped by a signal at Toton with a heavy steel train. Close ups of 37088 shunting are followed by 37146 passing March Whitemoor yard with a Wisbech – Deanside freight.

A spell at Doncaster in July 1985 captures 37097, 37169 and 37209 in action. A Peterborough visit includes 37003 and 37142 with mixed freights, 37102 with lorries and 37128 with vans.

North of the Border we see 37261 at Inverkeithing with The Royal Scotsman stock.
Other locations include Oxford, Reading, and Banbury.

Bonus One is the complete sequence that we have of 37112 at Oban in 1984. The Arrival is seen on volume one, but included here are shunting the stock and Observation Car. We then rushed off to film the train near Dalmally (also on Vol. 1).

Bonus 2 is a nostalgic eye view behind a 37 on The West Highland Line between Fort William and Mallaig including Glenfinnan viaduct.
